Afternoon Gents, I have a Prince Auto-Cycle valve on my log-splitter. The issue I'm having recently is that the handle for the forward stroke doesn't want to move freely. It will reach the end of the stroke and then it tries to kick back to neutral, but because it is a little stiff it just kinda gets stuck between engaged and neutral. I honestly know jack chit about hydraulics, so I'm hoping fo...
Thought I would post this since I couldn't find much online about this odd (?) brand of edger. It is an American Gardener driveway edger, 120V. Purchased I am sure at a big box store maybe 10-15 years ago. Anyway, the trigger switch recently went kaput, meaning the edger would start running as soon as I plugged it in. This is really not fun with an edger. Checked manual, the company's website w...
Hi, new to the site here- though I have been reading many posts and just starting to tinker a little bit on chainsaws. I have a 1999 346xp that I recently swapped the 42mm cylinder for the 44mm cylinder and replaced the plastic boot clamp with the metal one. I could not get the chain to stop turn at idle, and after messing with the carb screws, I took it to a shop to have them adjust the idle, ...
I'm looking for some advice on what to do next. Backstory: I have a Farmertec 660 that I built several years ago, ran great, used it for milling, then overheated it (I think?) while milling some Black Locust logs. Piston seemed stuck, couldn't pull the starter cord. I got busy with other things and didn't get around to working on until recently. Over the weekend I installed a new piston and cyl...

So I had huskihl convert some of my chains to square. And now I m a believer. So the question is, what files do you guys use (double bevel or triangular goofy) and where do you get them.
Just curious where you'll got all your experience/knowledge? Wether is was a a book or a school or a shop/mentor. I'm sure a lot of the porting and such is "try and see if this works" type, but we all had to start somewhere. My dad is a machinist but not all that engine savvy. So I got my start taking apart the family lawnmower and putting it back together again. Then some minor fixes and so on...
Please share your pictures of your tractors in the woods. Cutting firewood, running splitters, skidding logs, driving buzz saws, making trails, whatever you like. Here's a couple from this afternoon. Just putzing around with a little trailer picking up some wood that I don't want to get rained on. It's stuff I'll burn in the middle of winter probably. Dead standing ash and a red oak staub from ...
What are you guys running for a smoker? I ve smoked a few times on my Weber grill with results that s were satisfactory for me and the misses. I would like to get an off set style so I could do bigger slabs like a full brisket. Here s a pic of some boneless ribs I did. (Wife won t eat meat off the bone)
I need a new blade for my push mower. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to specific blades for specific jobs but either way the one on my mower sucks. I got a 21" MTD from Home Depot with mulch and bag options (no side discharge). I doesn't have enough lift for bagging and the mulching doesn't seem to chop it up really. Am I better off buying two separate blades or is there one that bags...
